Yoga In The Park

Yoga in the park

Enjoy the fresh air and spend some time in nature whilst practising yoga this summer.

Dorina Gregoriou takes her popular vinyasa yoga classes outside to the Presidential Palace Park. Her classes follow the vinyasa style of yoga, in which Dorina will instruct you on how to flow through a sequence of asanas, whilst maintaining a focus on your breath. Dorina teaches the class in such a way that each flow of movement is sequenced to prepare you for the next, each one building on the previous.

The classes are suitable for all and are taught in English.

What to Expect in a Yoga in the Park Class:

  1. Dynamic and Flowing Sequences: Like a traditional Vinyasa class, the session involves a fluid progression of poses synchronised with breath, offering a balance of strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.

  2. Connection with Nature: Practicing outdoors enhances sensory awareness and helps you feel more connected to the environment. Expect to hear birdsong, feel the breeze, and enjoy the open sky as part of the experience.

  3. Grounded Practice: The unevenness of grass or soil underfoot adds a new dimension to balance poses and grounding asanas, encouraging adaptability and focus.

  4. Breath and Fresh Air: Practicing in the fresh air often deepens breathwork (pranayama) and provides an invigorating sense of renewal.

  5. Community Energy: Park yoga often fosters a sense of community, with participants sharing an informal, uplifting atmosphere.

  6. Variability: Classes may adapt to the natural environment, incorporating standing poses or flows that work well on outdoor terrain, sometimes including moments of mindfulness to connect with the surroundings.

Who This Class Is For

  2. All Levels Welcome: Vinyasa in the park is typically adaptable to different skill levels. Beginners can take it at their own pace, while seasoned yogis can embrace the challenges of outdoor practice.

  3. Community Seekers: Great for people who enjoy practicing in a group, meeting like-minded individuals, or sharing the energy of an outdoor yoga community.

  4. Stress Relief and Mental Clarity: Combining the mindful flow of Vinyasa yoga with the calming effects of nature is ideal for reducing stress and improving focus.

  5. Adventure Seekers: Those who enjoy stepping outside their comfort zone to try new experiences, such as balancing on uneven terrain, will find this class refreshing and invigorating.
