Yoga in pregnancy is a great way to connect with the experience and help you to prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for a positive birthing experience. In Emma’s classes, she combines movements, breathing, and meditation practices to support you as your body changes throughout pregnancy and prepare you for labour and the postnatal period.
Pregnancy is a great personal journey and a time of both physical and mental change. It can also be a challenging time, as adjustments need to be made as the body starts to change shape. Pregnancy yoga with Emma can help address some of these changes positively, by helping you to be more conscious and present with your body during pregnancy, and labour. Her classes help you to connect with your unborn child and have a calming effect on you, which in turn, is transmitted to your baby.
Attention is given to maintaining strength and flexibility, as well as specific techniques to help your baby find the best position for labour, to ease back pain, pelvic pain and other common pregnancy related complaints. Emma also weaves into the sessions active birth positions, pelvic floor preparation, breathing techniques and some birth education. It’s a great way to bond with your baby, prepare for labour, and in attending classes you get to feel part of a community of pregnant mothers.
